Bethany House
A Home For Orphaned Girls In Romania. The vision of Bethany House is to help: orphaned, poor and abandoned children and assist families when they are facing overwhelming poverty, death or crisis. Further, we seek all that would come to us for help to also come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, who promised never to leave or abandon.
He who gives to the poor will lack nothing... Proverbs 28:27 Bethany House Website Additionally we are delighted to support and encourage a group of churches based in Slobozia, Romania.

Working in Romaina
After spending nearly two and a half years working as a volunteer in the South East of Romania, I returned to the UK in September 2009 with my wife Anda. While I was in Romania, I was located in the neighbouring towns of Slobozia and Calarasi about 70 miles east of Bucharest. I was working in partnership with Vestea Buna, a small evangelical church. I lead a group for teenagers with my wife, Anda, I taught in the church, and provided free English lessons to the local community. This was an effective way of building relationships with people who would not normally come to the church. You can read more about Vestea Buna church on their website: www.vesteabuna.axspace.com I also worked with the Bethany House Foundation (www.bethanyhouseromania.org), which provides a Christian home for orphaned and abandoned children. Although we have now returned to the UK, we continue to maintain close links with our friends in Romania. We have two trips to Romania arranged for 2010. We will be taking part in an outreach week at a large state orphanage, and we are also planning a camp for the members of the Vestea Buna youth group. If you are interested in knowing more about our work in Romania, please write to me at sdodwell@yahoo.com and I can add you to the distribution list for our newsletter.
